FIP Treatment for Ghost

This is Ghost. His life wasn’t always cushy as the little bed he is sleeping on in the photo. In 2019 my dog made friends with a scrawny cat that was part of a colony I was TNRing. Every time my pup when outside, the cat would race over from wherever he was hiding and took to going on our walks with us around town, always disappearing when my dog went inside - earning the name Ghost.

When my dog finally reached the end of his life in January 2021; it was one of the hardest heartbreaks I have experienced in my life. I decided I owed it to my late pup to adopt his little buddy Ghost officially, and by the end of summer that year he had became an indoor only kitty living the sweet life. Ghost saved me during the days that passed. We were saving each other during this time.

Now Ghost needs saving again.

He is only 4 years old and has tragically been diagnosed with FIP - Feline Infectious Peritonitis. Ghost has the "wet" version of FIP, causing his abdomen to swell with fluid and put strain on his breathing. The pressure from the fluid is also discouraging him from eating. FIP can progress very quickly and up until recently it was a 100% death sentence without any cases of survival. There are no vaccines to prevent this disease from happening.

Just a few years ago a medical treatment became available that is a cure in 85% of cases. A miracle. Hope.

It should be easy for Ghost’s life to be saved, right? It should.. but at times life can have a way of throwing many things at once. After being laid off from my title job a while back, my savings has became depleted and I am struggling with the costs for this treatment to save my boy… When it rains, it pours.

Treatment is 3 months long and will cost about $3500. It would be purchased over the course of the three months so we don’t need to come up with the whole payment right away. Can you find it in your heart to donate to help Ghost?
