Fire Amidst a Pandemic: Help 6 families rebuild
Donation protected
There were six apartments behind the Taj, six apartments where six beautiful families were able to call home.
From war veterans to first responders every family enjoyed living at 59 Main Street Binghamton. Some lived there for 25 years. On Sunday March 21, 2021 at around noon the lives of each of the families were flipped upside down. I stood with about 1000 residents of Binghamton on Main Street as these six families watched flames and fumes come from their homes. The tears they shed weren't for valuable possessions or for dollars rather they were for the livelihood they tried to build. They stood and watched as their homes were demolished. Some got out with nothing but the clothes on their back. Others lost everything they have ever owned.
Each of these six families had very little due to the pandemic and are currently struggling.
Honor those who no longer have their own beds to sleep in, those who spent years trying to start a new life in Binghamton. These families are your servers, dishwashers, war veterans and first responders.
Every penny counts, it makes a difference. If you're able to give please do so it'll improve the lives of families that truly need it.
Binghamton let's come together and support those who need us.
The Support will be going to:
The Kumari family who lost everything but some of their clothes
The Davis Family who lost everything including their inventory for their small business
The Ali family who lost everything
The Murray family who lost everything
Mr. Schaeffer a war veteran who lost almost everything but his clothes
And Mr. PK who lost everything including his father's sentimental belongings.
I have contacted each of the families and they aware and grateful of your support.
All funds will be distributed to the families directly. The use of funds will be directed towards finding new apartments, security deposits and replacing essentials. We appreciate your support during this tough time!
