Fire Destroys Kidz Closet

Hello, my name is Misty Harp and I’ve created this fundraiser as a way for our community to rally around Susan, owner of Kidz Closet, and her family in light of a devastating loss that occurred last night. On 5/17/2022, around 9:15pm, officers found Kidz Closet and the laundromat next to it completely overtaken by fire. The entire building is a complete loss. The State Fire Marshall's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.

 

Thank God, there were no injuries reported.

 

Susan has always been a pillar in our community when it comes to helping those in need. She is the first to give the shirt off her back, even if it means she doesn’t have one for herself. To know her is to love her and her selflessly humble heart. Most people in our community don’t know that she also runs two non-profit organizations: Kidz Closet Charities and Pigs and Pals Farm Rescue. 

 

After owning and operating Kidz Closet for 15 years, even the thought of trying to rebuild her business is too much to process right now. At this time, Susan plans to focus her time and attention to both of her non-profit organizations.

Kidz Closet Charities provides clothing, bedding, and educational items to those in need. Pigs and Pals Farm Rescue provides a permanent home with long term medical care and healthy diets to all of the animals in their care and is in need of continued funds to feed and house the animals as well as pay for their medical expenses.

All of the funds raised will go to Susan and her family to help offset the costs associated with the loss of Kidz Closet and will be split between Pigs and Pals Farm Rescue and Kidz Closet Charities. 

Even through this tragedy, Susan stands firm in her faith that God always has a plan. Your donations and prayers are greatly appreciated.
