Fire destroys NOSH-N.S. Soup Kitchen headquarters
On the morning of August 24th, a catastrophic fire occurred at NOSH, located in the VFW building in Glen Cove, resulting in the total loss of NOSH’s equipment and food inventory. This included our entire inventory of food—thousands of pounds— enough to feed our community for two months. We also lost all our refrigeration equipment, 23 refrigerators and freezers, and of course our home. While the fire has devastated our short term ability to conduct the work, serving over 600 families in our community, we are committed to building back stronger than ever.
