Support The Jordan E. Melton Memorial Crusade Fund

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rochelle Malone, mother to Fallen Fire Fighter Jordan Melton. On July 12, 2023, shortly after beginning his shift at Birmingham Fire Station #9, while performing routine maintenance in the station’s bay area, a gunman entered through the open bay door and opened fire. Jordan passed away five days later, as a result of his injuries, on July 17, 2023.

No arrests have been made during the course of the investigation. Our family needs your help. My family, friends, and community of supporters are raising money towards aiding and assisting us in the financial necessities to find justice for Jordan and others in the future, as well as, transition our pain into purpose through aiding the needs of other families like ours and spreading awareness about practicing non-violence.

All funds will be utilized towards The Jordan E. Melton Empowerment & Mentorship Society, the name of the nonprofit organization we have created for governing this memorial fund, to provide community programming for educating youth and citizens on practicing a lifestyle of non-violence; Awarding educational scholarships to aspiring firefighters; Financially assist families to offset hardship caused by sudden death of a youth to gun violence; and hosting a variety of other youth development programs.

Just as it takes a village to raise a child, collective collaboration such as this is needed to educate, empower and cultivate our community of young people to embrace a mindset and lifestyle of practicing non-violence. Most importantly, to provide a harness of beneficial support to those mothers and families who have been emotionally raped by such a heinous act of violence, gun violence. We are optimistic that your commitment to be an active supporter of The Jordan E. Melton Empowerment & Mentorship Society will make a positive difference in the community. Our collective efforts will garner significant financial contributions needed to continue our mission, advocacy and aid, but most importantly promote a culturally environmental change of practicing non-violence to assist in establishing safer communities and lives for our children; Something Fallen Firefighter Jordan E. Melton pledged his life to do.
