The Mission of the Fire Museum of Memphis is to promote education on fire and life safety, to reduce injury, life-loss ad property-loss related to fire, and to recognize and preserve the heritage of the fire service and its contribution to the community.

Our Iconic Neon sign has been a fixture in Downtown Memphis for over 20 years. People know they can find the museum by finding this glowing neon flame sign. However, as with most things, time has not been its friend. Most of the neon is burnt out, if it storms some of the letters go out and at night the neon isn't as bright as it once was.

The museum knows the sign needs to be replaced to continue to be a bastion of hope for fire prevention and safety, and a shining example of the beauty of the city of Memphis to visitors from around the world. The look of the sign will be the same. The neon that has become dangerous will be replaced by LED lights. Graphics will be spruced up to get them back to pristine condition.
