Fire on Caldwell Blvd
Donation protected
About 7pm today my nephew’s truck suddenly caught fire on the corner of Ustick Rd and Cleveland Blvd. He was traveling East on the Blvd; stopped at the red light when smoke suddenly started to enter through his air vents. After seeing the flames starting to burst through the hood he jumped out and over the many concrete barriers that are currently covering that intersection due to the road widening project. Stinkers Gas station on the corner was forced to shut down due to the magnitud of the fire and its close proximity. In 100°+ weather it was absolutely heartbreaking to see my nephews beloved truck up in flames glimmering back through his eyes. Luckily, Don, the employee working at the Stinkers treated us with unexpected and much appreciated hospitality and such kindness in a very surreal and scary moment. He ushered us in the closed store and offered us cold water and a much needed shelter during the long hours of the aftermath. We couldn’t thank you enough Don!! The truck is a total loss, along with everything in it including his brand new laptop which was just gifted to him for his high school graduation as he has plans to pursue a higher education, getting his Pilot's license beginning in about 3 weeks. Guys, we totally get it. Everyone has a million and one problems but if you can scratch the bottom of your barrel and donate to help the kindest, bright, hardworking, young man out we would greatly and forever appreciate you!
