On Saturday, Dec 11th, Jeff and Trish Vega were confronted by an explosion from their basement which was caused by a power surge from a fallen electrical pole.
The day started with Jeff noticing the electrical pole leaning down towards the house and called the fire department when the tree caught on fire. When it hit the tree, it caused a power surge through the house, barn and shed. Luckily Jeff managed to put the fire out at the basement but not the fires in the barn or shed as by that time, the power lines had broken loose from the pole. They took all the animals out and placed the dogs in the car while they watched the firemen put the rest of the fires out.
We are grateful that they and all the animals are safe. However their home electrical is totally fried and will be needing 100% replacement. Shed is totally gone and the barn wall will need a replacement. And as they are out of power and water now, their main concern is the well-being of their animals; getting them water and keeping them from freezing this winter.
If you know this family, you know how generous and lovely they are, and how much they would do to help others. During these challenging times especially just weeks before Christmas, please consider supporting them now, in their time of need. This will really lighten up their load from this traumatic experience!
Thank you!
