Fire Relief for Elderly Parents from Eaton Canyon
Donation protected
An adult child has a broken heart. NO ONE wants to see their 80 and 90-year-old parents have to go through this. The Eaton Canyon Fire has taken more than a home. My parents are the most level-headed, positive people I have ever met (next to my Granny who has already left Mother Earth). They have already taken so many steps in under three days. She does not know I am doing this and I am positive she would disapprove. Just because you can stand on your own two feet doesn't mean you have to. So many of my friends and family have asked how they can help. So many have asked about GoFundMe. Mom, I know you say you are okay today because someone offered you a bedroom, but you may not be okay tomorrow. It is in the name of that absolute fear I am full of sorrow and have to do something (pause) anything, to help.
I did not know how to choose an amount, so I just went with the year. I run two non-profits: one that benefits animals in emergency situations such as home fires (Emma Zen Foundation) and one that helps the sick, injured, and abandoned wildlife (Wildlife Foster Program). I am as deep in this in three areas as one can be. I am doing what people are all asking me to do, asking for help.
1. I am Debra Jo Chiapuzio. (Daughter)
2. I live in Anaheim, CA, and my parents lived in the Hasting Ranch Pasadena/Altadena area.
3. These are my parents who lost their home in the Eaton Fire.
4. GoFundMe has asked how the funds will be spent. Answer: I don't know. To any immediate needs to get them into a short-term place or for daily living expenses.
