On July 30th, 2023 at 11 am, there was an unexpected spark at an inopportune time, and a raging fire ran through our friend Eliza Doyle’s land, 45 km NW of Saskatoon, Sk.
Complete structural lost included her sister’s (Maria Doyle) tiny home, and her storage trailer with her belongings (tents, life jackets, Doylefest supplies, tools, blankets, books, memorabilia…etc), and a lean-to with outdoor items (propane fire pit and furnaces, pots, cross country skis, chests, camping chairs..etc.
The inside of her sea can (a shipping container she converted into a living space) was completely devastated, along with her stage jewelry, scarves, kitchen, bed, dishes, 2 ukuleles and a fiddle. Luckily most of her clothes survived, although they are heavily smoke damaged and in need of professional cleaning. Her jackets (winter, fur and leather) may be salvageable, but that is yet to be determined.
As she did not have insurance, we are asking your help in getting her back on her feet with the repair, clean-up, and professional cleaning of her salvageable items.
Thank you in advance, and please be assured that any amount, no matter how small, is very helpful. Let’s go team!
