Fire Relief for Marie and Nico

Hi, my name is Anna, this fundraiser is for my good friends, Marie and Nico.

On the evening of Wednesday August 15th, Nico and Marie experienced a life altering fire in their home of nearly 20 years. Unfortunately they lost everything from fire, smoke, and water damage. They, along with their two sweet dogs and one cat, have been displaced and are currently looking for immediate housing. I’m starting this GoFundMe with the hope that they’re able to pay for housing needs, gas for transportation to/from work, and eventualy move-in costs and to replace necessary furniture, appliances, clothing, etc.

I work with Nico at an after school program teaching art, social justice, and social emotional wellness to grades Kinder through 6th. Nico also works as a para educator during the day at a school in San Francisco. Marie was recently laid off from her job, due to cutbacks, and is currently looking for work.

Aside from their day jobs, Nico and Marie are part of a thriving music and art community in the Bay Area. They started Family Affair two years ago, giving a platform to queer, trans, poc artists, musicians, and performers. They host monthly events bringing together this diverse group of folks in our community.
