Fire Relief Fund for Steve & Terri Lantz

Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

On January 8th, our beloved parents, Steve and Terri Lantz, faced an unimaginable loss: their El Medio Ave. home (known affectionately in the neighborhood as the Holiday House for all the decorations) was reduced to ashes in the devastating Pacific Palisades Fire. While we are eternally grateful they escaped with their lives and their loyal dog, everything else was destroyed. In the frantic moments of evacuation, they could only grab the bare essentials—a change of clothes, medications, and their dog. Gone are their most cherished family photographs, treasured heirlooms, computers, and a lifetime of collectibles and antiques.

This tragedy is heartbreakingly familiar to our parents, who moved into this home in 1995 after losing their previous one in the Northridge earthquake. That ordeal took nearly two years to resolve, and now they face the daunting and overwhelming task of starting over yet again. They need immediate assistance to secure basic necessities—clothing, food, medications, and temporary housing—as they navigate the long road toward rebuilding their lives.

Steve and Terri have spent their lives in service to others. Terri dedicated 46 years to United Cerebral Palsy, where she retired as a client rights advocate for individuals with disabilities, earning the prestigious Art of Care award for her decades of compassionate support. Steve devoted his career to public service with various transportation agencies and volunteered extensively with the Palisades Alliance for Seniors. His efforts earned him the Spark Plug award from the Palisades Community Council for saving the local bus stop and making the neighborhood a better place for everyone. They have always given selflessly to their community, and now, in their time of need, we hope to rally the same generosity and support they have shown to others.

We have created this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to help our parents with their immediate needs and temporary housing while they work to rebuild their lives. Steve and Terri are proud and independent people who would never ask for help themselves, but as their children, we see how much they need the kindness and support of their community. No donation is too small—every contribution will make a meaningful difference in helping them through this incredibly difficult time.
