Fire Relief Fund For Woodhaven Family

The morning of December 13, 2023, a 9 yr. old student of the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Academy community was getting ready for school along with her grandmother, when in a sudden moment, a fire ignited in the kitchen area. Both were able to escape the fire without injury within minutes of it completely being engulfed in flames. The apartment is now unlivable due to the flames, smoke and water damage. The family is currently living in a hotel/shelter where the conditions are not the best. They had to flee their home with nothing more than the clothes on their back and, desperately need comfort and financial assistance in order to find a new living space and obtain the necessary items lost in the fire.

The family of three is now forced to start over. The expenses of this tradegy are hefty since they lost the majority of their personal items and furniture, along with a food supply they had just purchased for the month. This is a huge impact on the family and their ability to live safely in the Woodhaven area where their child currently attends school. It is especially devasting at this time of year, the Christmas season.
