Fire Relief Napa & Sonoma Counties
Donation protected
Napa and Sonoma counties in Northern California underwent a series of unprecedented fires that started October 8 and as of October 22nd are still not 100% contained. Close to 200,000 acres have been burned and there are 42 confirmed deaths and close to 9,000 structures were destroyed. Many, many people remain affected either through loss of homes, places of work and/or health related issues.
Charles Communications Associates, based in San Francisco, CA, has worked with wineries in California closely for over 30 years and for this effort, worked together with several other wine industry professionals in the first two weeks to identify needs for evacuees including non perishable foods, clothing, sleeping bags, masks, water, and gift cards for displaced families. In the first two weeks we distributed $11,000 worth of goods. Thanks to your generosity, the campaign has reached a level of $54,000 and we have been speaking with several underserved community charities including health clinics to allocate funding to those most in need. We know the needs will evolve in the coming months and year and we as a team of doers, want to ensure these funds go to those most overlooked and in need. We will continue to keep you apprised weekly.
Charles Communications Associates used funds to pay for goods for the shelter drives and will then be allocating remaining monies to deserving charitable causes.
We hope you can help and we appreciate those of you who have supported this campaign.
