Fire Ruins A Family Affair Southern Cuisine
Donation protected
Hello, my sister, Brittany Bryant and her business partner/sister/best friend are the proud restauranteurs of your favorite Southern Cuisine restaurant, A Family Affair. A terrible tragedy occurred in the early morning of February 19, 2023. An electrical fire started in the walls caused our restaurant to be completely destroyed. These two young, African American women started this business from scratch in October 2021. We have been truly blessed to make our customers feel at home, contribute to ending homelessness by providing jobs and assisting with living arrangements for our employees, and being of service in our community.
A Family Affair believes that family is not just important, but it’s everything. We consider our customers, employees, and community our family. We are asking our community to help them financially so we can continue to pay the six employees their wages while we rebuild our restaurant so that it’s better than ever. We love what we do and have faith that we will be able to make memories and continue feeding your souls with our Southern Cuisine.
We hope to raise $50,000 to continue to pay our employees until we are back on our feet, cover kitchen rental fees to continue to meet our existing catering orders, and replenish equipment and supplies that were lost in the fire. Very few items were recovered due to water damage or the fire itself. Any amount donated is greatly needed and truly appreciated. All donations will be delivered directly to the owners for distribution to the employees and other financial costs associated with the upkeep of business until the physical reopening.
With love,
A Family Affair (Dechele, big sister of Brittany Bryant and big sister from another mother to Jakiya Terrell).
