Fire Took Our Home, Please Help Us Heal
Donation protected
My name is Marie and I am a single mother who lost everything during the most recent LA fires, specifically the Eaton fire in Altadena. I converted my garage into a casita/Air BNB to provide supplemental income for my daughter and I. That is now gone

Still in disbelief…the city I love and have lived in for the last few decades is decimated. When I got the evacuation order, I believed beyond all hope that the winds would shift and our neighborhood would be fine. My daughter, Alex and I left with the clothes on our backs and a few personal items. We are grateful that we are safe and thankful for friends who have rallied around my daughter and I. When I snuck in to the neighborhood to see my house, I was in shock. I was devastated that everything I love and own in my home, where I’ve created amazing memories in for the last 25 years, is no longer there. The loss of my beloved house is grief beyond measure. The level of disbelief is unimaginable, seeing that the only thing that remains is smoke and ashes. The community I know and love is no longer recognizable. It’s hard to know how to re-start.

My friends, who are my family, have suggested I start a Go-Fund me page. It breaks my heart that my family won’t be able to gather at my home for Sunday night dinners, holidays, birthdays, and of course, to watch and cheer on my Redskins.
Sending my love and prayers to all my friends and neighbors who are also going through the same trauma.
The funds raised here will go towards every that FEMA and insurance will not cover.
Sending love, Marie
