Tom & Sharon Valley Fire Recovery

On September 12, 2015  my father Tom Garrett and his grilfriend Sharon Dawson woke up in their bed believing it was a typical Saturday morning. My Dad went into work to get ahead of the day while Sharon enjoyed the peacefulness of their quite home.  By the end of the day their lives had been turned upsidedown. They were evacuated from their home, separated from their best friends;Kodak, Elizabeth, Akira and Althea (their family dogs), their condition was unknown, and unaware of what tomorrow would hold.  The Valley Fire would forever alter their life and the community of Middletown, Ca. 

 We now know their little friends are safe; friends were able to get to them and they are being well cared for. But we also know my Dad and Sharon’s home is gone.  The home where they shared so many memories with friends and family, the home where Sharon raised her two boys has been destroyed. Their personal belongings and keepsakes that were left behind would never be seen again… except for one sign “This is Where I Belong”.  And that is where my Dad and Sharon belong and that is where they will be.  Thankfully they have insurance to help them with the rebuilding cost in the next couple months, but today they still need to eat, they need replacement socks, and my Dad needs his hair product… ok maybe not.  But they do have immediate and unexpected expenses and they could use a little bit of help.

This is a different position for my Dad and Sharon; normally they are the one supporting people in need or giving back to the community. And when they do get into a tuff position they are not the type of people to ask for help.  But this is an a different situation, they could use a little help.  Anything you can give is appreciated and will help.
