Firefighter Fighting Mesothelioma Cancer, Ted Carpenter

Donation protected
My name is Aubree Carpenter and I am the daughter of Ted Carpenter. I felt led to start this gofundme on behalf of my family; Ted Carpenter, Bree Carpenter and Tate Carpenter. At a young age of 46, my dad has been given the news and diagnosis of cancer, not just any cancer..a rare and aggressive form of peritoneal mesothelioma.

Peritoneal mesothelioma affects the lining of the abdomen. This cancer is caused by inhaling or ingesting asbestos fibers that get embedded in the peritoneum. My dad, Ted has been a Dallas firefighter for 22 years, which means he inhaled these fibers trying to earn a living for his family. Station 17 is where my dads second family resides, DFD is a family we are so thankful to have. My dad, Ted, is a very faithful christian, loving family man, loves his community, is involved in his church, loves to sing praises and would give the shirt off of his back for anyone in need. My dad has always used his voice for good, singing not only for the church, but giving back for Dallas Fire events; singing, being in various acapella groups spreading the word and also singing for his family and uplifting them with his voice when they have needed it most. I am asking for prayers above all for the next months as we process as a family the diagnosis, the surgeries, the doctors we will encounter. My mom, Bree will not be able to work as much during this time due to caring for my dad, Ted. My brother Tate is a senior in high school at Maypearl, and I am currently in Lubbock at Texas Tech pursuing a nursing degree. We have a lot of unknowns, and a long road ahead of us. As you all are aware, medical expenses are insane nowadays, no matter the insurance you may have. If you feel led to give, my family would be forever grateful. If you are the praying kind, pray for strength for my dad for the coming treatments, surgeries, doctors, and my family to have the positivity to keep his spirits lifted. We appreciate everyone's love and support during this time, and we are going to need all of the prayers and everyone behind us pushing for the best results possible.

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.”

A little boy who had a dream.
