Firefighter Jeff Sargeson injured in line of duty
Donation protected
I am fund raising on behalf of Jeff Sargeson, a dedicated firefighter with the Monitor Township Fire Department, who recently faced a traumatic incident while on duty. Jeff, who has served our community for 15 years, was involved in a hit-and-run accident that has left him with significant injuries. We are coming together to support Jeff as he faces the challenges of recovery and rehabilitation.
Background:
On January 1, at around 12:45 a.m., Jeff responded to a two-vehicle crash on eastbound US-10 near Interstate 75. After successfully clearing the scene, he noticed another vehicle that had slid off the road. Without hesitation, Jeff stopped to assist the occupants, helping them get their vehicle unstuck. Unfortunately, as he was rendering aid, another vehicle lost control and struck the just-freed one. In the chaos that followed, a pickup truck also lost control, hitting Jeff and causing severe injuries. The driver of the truck callously fled the scene.
Current Situation:
Jeff has been released from the hospital, but the road to recovery is long and challenging. He is now at home, dealing with a broken left ankle, a broken left leg, severely bruised ribs, and numerous cuts and bruises. The physical and emotional toll of this incident is significant, and Jeff faces an uphill battle to regain his health.
Why Your Support Matters:
We are reaching out to our community and beyond to ask for your support in this difficult time. The funds raised will go towards Jeff's medical expenses, rehabilitation, and any other unforeseen costs associated with his recovery. Jeff has dedicated his life to serving and protecting our community, and now it's our turn to stand by him in his time of need.
How You Can Help:
Please consider making a donation to Jeff's recovery fund. Your generosity will make a meaningful impact on his journey towards healing. Additionally, sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks will help us reach a wider audience and garner more support for Jeff.
Closing:
On behalf of the Monitor Township Fire Department and Jeff's family, we extend our deepest gratitude for your kindness, thoughts, and concern during this challenging time. Together, let's rally around Jeff and show him the strength of our community. Your support will make a difference, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
