Help firefighter Shawn Parrish medical expense

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Beth Parrish and I am helping raise money for my son Shawn Parrish. Earlier this month, Shawn, Who is a wildland fire fighter, was on the Happy Camp Complex Fire in Northern California when he suddenly became very ill. He was hospitalized in Medford with Sepsis, kidney infection, pneumonia, a collapsed lung, strep infection, blood poisoning, and a UTI. The hospital immediately began a therapy of antibiotics. When it was determined that he needed more extensive treatment immediately, he was air lifted by LifeFlight to Portland. When he got to the Portland hospital, he had surgery to remove the infection from his lungs. He did not have medical insurance to cover any of these expenses. These funds will be used to cover the medical bills, life flight, and lost wages. It’s important that Shawn heals sufficiently before returning to the fire lines. We understand that not everyone is in position to help at this time. Please know that we welcome positive thoughts and prayers as well. Thank you.

More Bio information about Shawn: he has a history of volunteering within his community. At a young age, he volunteered for Dist. #10 Fire department helping with their Toy and Joy Christmas program. He continued volunteering with them into adulthood when he introduced his daughter to volunteering with Dist. #10 Fire as well. As a young adult, he was a volunteer reserve officer with Columbia County sheriffs office, Washington county sheriffs office, and Multnomah county sheriffs mounted posse. In the past 20 years, he has Volunteered with the Cascade Locks fire department as their training officer and with the Molalla Oregon fire department. In 2020, when the town of Molalla was evacuated due to the Riverside complex fire, Shawn volunteered to man the fire station for the residents who did not evacuate. He has been a paid employee of Warm Springs Reservation  fire and safety as well as Clark county district #12 in Washington. He has also been a wildland fire fighter for the US forest service. He went to school to become an EMT. He has been a paid fire instructor at Clackamas County Community College and Portland Community College. Shawn has served his community throughout his life. Now he needs help from his community.
