Firefighter wife Sharia Faith Jones

Hello, we are friends and co-workers of Wildland Firefighter Jason Jones. Jason was recently deployed to Texas for wildfires as a Captain on a wildland engine. While there, Jason’s family was involved in a tragic vehicle crash in New Mexico on Thursday night August 17, 2023. Jason’s family was hit head-on by a wrong way driver. Unfortunately, Jason lost his wife of 22 years Sharia Faith Jones. Jason’s second oldest son, was airlifted to an Albuquerque area hospital where he is undergoing emergency surgery for his injuries. He will be recovering for several months. Jason’s youngest, daughter was also in the vehicle and suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital, treated and released. She is extremely traumatized with all that she had witnessed.

Jason has been employed with the Bureau of Land Management in New Mexico as an Engine Captain for over 20 years and after hearing of the news was transported immediately back to New Mexico to be with his children.

Together, Jason and Faith have raised four boys and a daughter. This journey will be extremely tough for them as they move forward.

Together they home schooled all of their children and raised them in the church. Jason and his family were extremely tight nit and traveled frequently to visit family. Jason would get deployed frequently and he was often heard talking about his wife as the “glue that holds them together” while he is gone. This will be extremely tough for the family and any support will be greatly appreciated.

The fundraiser will help the Jones family with medical and funeral expenses.

**UPDATE**

Jasons son made it thru his surgery and is recovering. He will need weeks if not months of physical therapy and doctor visits.

I am increasing the goal to help cover medical expenses as well as lodging since most if not all of the upcoming doctor follow ups and physical therapy will be out of town.

Jason will now need to adjust his work around raising his family also. This will be extremely difficult at best.

Jason and his family are doing the best they can during this difficult time and any and all help will be truly appreciated.
