Altadena Fires claim Grandpa Samuel and Sharon Sarpong Home
Donation protected
On behalf of myself and my brother Sam Boakye we are pleading with our community to help raise support for our Uncle Samuel and his wife Sharon Sarpong. They have lived in their Altadena house for over 20 years. This year, they celebrated their 79th birthdays together with hopes of enjoying another year being stewards in their community. On Jan 7th, all that changed as they were emergency evacuated from their home with little to no time to think to even grab extra clothing. A day later, they received the call from a family friend alerting them that their home did not make it.
And with that, 50+ years of shared memories, departed children's and loved ones' photos that can never be reclaimed, along with countless sentimental valuables that they will never see again, were lost. Most importantly, the home that Sam toiled to make their sanctuary, through his urban development, unique landscaping in his spare time, and custom architectural works spanning over a decade, is gone forever.
Please help them rebuild some remnant of solace and peace of mind as they try to weather this terrible tragedy.
The funds will be used to help them purchase clothing, temporary shelter, transportation, and start the process of potentially rebuilding some portion of their home.
We have set up this Gofund me on their behalf, hoping to galvanize our communities. I am currently based in Chicago, and Sam is in the New York area.
