Foundation Repair and New Engine
Donation protected

Well here is the beginning of the nightmare we didn't have a clue would get this bad so quickly, 12 years. This is where they put dug out part of the foundation of the house, and you can see where the concrete and steps are cracking. Sump Pump and protected Culligan Water System is down there, and our protected propped up safely water heater.
My name is Patricia Edwards, my husband and my 2 children and I, are living in a home we purchased as is, as a foreclosure, almost 11 years ago. Due to financial difficulties, which one being Jeremy is our only income as I am a homemaker, due right now to medical problems , I'm 44 in February, and Jeremy 40 in March. we have a special needs son that's 13 , John, that I need to be available for at all times, we have a 7 year old daughter Anna Gayle. This house was built was in 1957, we've gotten what information we can from our neighbors as to why the owners at the time, did this to the house, but there's not much explanation.
Finally found out it was done so they could get the two woodstoves that were originally in here out and a oil furnace, that we promptly removed when it almost caught fire, when we moved in. Just shaking my head. We covered the hole in the floor where the heat came out which is the only way to reach any of the 4 rooms in the back, and you couldn't step on it. We now were blessed to receive central heating and air conditioning.
We had to have the power company put in an entire new box reader outside as the original was too small, and the electrician we used that put in an updated, approved box, with all the switches, main breaker, even to today, this house was wired weird, but I LOVE it. It's safe.
Please understand I'm not looking to get a new house, I love my house and I'm just wanting to restore the beauty to this precious home that it needs. It is starting with 5000.00 to start the work and make it a firm foundation, then we will be willing and have gladly accepted everything God has blessed us with so far.
If you look at the below picture you can see where the foundation has settled so bad from such a bad project that you can see the pole holding up that side of the house has an opening whole through it. My daughter's room sits above this spot.

I have just recently changed my asking price for just the amount to cover the foundation work to begin, they won't start the work without this amount down 5000.00, but I as the donations keep coming in, and the work is done, I promise pictures will come, and I will show all work being done and presented when done with a huge thank you. It's all we have to offer. I will come back to the page after our starting goal is met and I will update whatever is needed from there out. Thanks, Trisha January 21, 2017

There has been a crawl space/basement, that they dug into the house, literally going through the foundation of the bottom of the house, that my little girl's room sits on, as time has gone on, it's only worsened. We've had estimates from 2 repair companies, they will be putting in a total of 5 lifting pins to repair our foundation for the entire house, which will fix it, to half butt it as to speak they could do 3, but it's only temporary. Right now, all that it's used for is a water treatment system for the well we have, which needs to be redone.. We had that surveyed about 8 years ago to get a new well drawn, and that was 4,000.00. I do have the names of all companies that gave us these estimates.
My husband is a retired army Sargeant after 15 years of service, and time in Virginia National Guard and DC National Guard briefly. One deployment. He works for the county as a fireman/paramedic, paid. Our son is labeled life long disability due to autism, high functioning, severe receptive and expressive language disorder, ADHD, PDD, he looks 13, but to hear him talk, he is more in the mindset and sounds like a 7 year old, much like his sister.
This house has all original windows, that are coming off the frame inside the house, air gets in, please know that anything you give or donate will be going to the fixing of the this house and repairs that the inside needs.
As I said I've nothing to hide I'm happy to share pictures and references if needed. We are not stupid people, my husband and I both have degrees from Liberty University, his in business administration and fire science which he uses, and mine is in Pscyhology in Christian Counseling and Interdisplinary Studies, which I'm hoping to find work from home on the computer eventually. I am currently enrolled with financial aid pending approval to Grand Canyon University Online for my Masters in Professional Counseling.
We've nothing to offer in return but appreciation and a promise of all the work done to the house when it's completed, and a prayer and thank you to God for helping us. I know people are sick and there are much worse emergencies, but my home is important too so anything you can spare we appreciate.
Anything left over will be put in a fund after all house repair for our son John, for his future when we're not around someday. Thank you, Patricia Edwards
