This Makes It Personal is a new podcast presented by ALL OF US FILMS, dedicated to bringing nuance to global issues through in-depth personal conversation with those living through these issues firsthand. Hosted by documentary filmmaker Ben Nathan, This Makes It Personal transcends headlines and soundbites and offers an unfiltered glimpse into the lives of individuals directly impacted by some of humanity's most pressing issues. Listeners will journey through raw and compelling direct accounts, related to each season’s topic.

Over the course of each season, listeners will be encouraged to transform their inspiration and hope into specific action by learning more, donating, engaging in conversations, and advocating. Join Ben on this groundbreaking journey towards hope, solidarity, and meaningful change, through the power of empathy and understanding.

ALL OF US FILMS is committed to creating high production value content. In addition to audio, some episodes will also be filmed in a cinematic style, consistent with our documentary work around the globe. This visual content will enable the future creation of documentary material in the future.

SEASON 1:

The inaugural season of This Makes It Personal will feature interviews with individuals who have first-hand experience related to the current Israel-Hamas War. The goals of the season will be to: share real testimony of what took place on October 7th and during the ongoing war in Gaza; distinguish between Hamas and the Palestinian people, and between Israelis and the Israeli government; share what life is like for Palestinian Israelis; explore citizen-led Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts prior to Oct 7th, and where they are going now; delve into the ancestral grief and trauma of both Palestinians and Jews, exploring how it is possible to hold that grief while not vilifying the other.

Each season of This Makes It Personal covers a different topic within the broad themes of: environment, education, human rights, social & racial justice.

Given that the topics for each season evolve over time, the number of episodes remains flexible to ensure the podcast stays current and relevant for listeners. Each episode is 20-30 mins in length. Season themes may include:
