First Responders Adv. CISM Trainer

In 2016 we formed the Glynn County Critical Incident Stress Management Team to meet the need of first responders to be able to help each other handle traumatic events as they occur. Our goal is to include representatives from Brunswick Police Department, Glynn County Police Department, Glynn County Fire Department, Brunswick Fire Department and The Glynn County Sheriff’s Department. As part of my position as team leader and training coordinator, I train our team to help facilitate mental, physical and spiritual health and teach coping skills to first responders across the county.

As an Approved Instructor for the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, I trained 15 new members in August, 2016 in Basic Group & Individual Critical Incident Stress Management. We need to continue our advanced training and train another 30 members this year. I have been approved to take the train the trainer classes for Advanced Group & Individual Critical Incident Stress Management at the ICISF World Congress for Trauma and Stress  April 28th through May 8th, 2017.
