First Sports Fund

The First Sports Fund is a student-led nonprofit located in New Jersey dedicated to giving young children in underserved communities sports equipment and clothes. We hope to make sports accessible and create a life-long impact.

Kids from low-income households are six times more likely to quit sports, and the number one reason for this is the cost. (https://www.aspeninstitute.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/2019_SOP_National_Final.pdf) When youth sports become unavailable, kids are missing out on proven benefits to their lifestyle. These benefits range from necessities such as improved health, less drug use, quality of life, social engagement, life lessons, and other crucial values. Our current goal is to gift an entire youth sports team with a full set of new quality clothes, cleats, shoes, and equipment. With the starting goal of $5,000, we will be able to achieve this and take our impact to the central New Jersey area, where a large majority of the youth live in poverty. The $5,000 will help us achieve this goal and help continue our operations and mission. As our impact and mission grow in the future, we will continue to support kids not only in the United States but across Latin America and other international locations.
