Fish Flow Forever Fund

Friends of Butte Creek (FBC) are acquiring a water right that will be dedicated to instream flow for the protection of aquatic resources in Butte Creek in perpetuity. The water will be protected under California Fish and Wildlife code 1707. FBC is establishing the Flow Fund to cover the out of pocket expenses to obtain this first water right for fish on Butte Creek. The water right has been appraised and will go through a peer review before the California Department of Fish and Wildlife will approve transfer of the right. In addition, the Flow fund will help support activities to acquire more water rights for fish.   Acquiring water through purchase and or lease will aid the survival of these endangered salmon.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 to pay for the completed appraisal and to keep the water flowing forever.  We are short of our goal and need to raise another $7,000. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to the salmon!
