Fisher Family's Internship Travel

For those who aren’t entirely sure what Karin and James have been doing for the past three years, we are both in graduate school to earn Ph.D.s in Clinical Psychology. This is at least a four-year process that involves classes, research, and hands-on training in therapy.
In order for us to get our degrees, we both must complete a year of internship training – it’s kind-of like the residency that medical students have to finish. Getting an internship is like getting into graduate school all over again…we have submitted applications to programs all over the country, and we are invited for interviews based on our experience, goals, and qualifications.
The good news is that we both have secured a number of interviews. The bad news is that all of the expenses to get to these interviews come out of our own pockets. The cost of flights and hotels add up, and we are not reimbursed for anything we pay out.
We are not asking you for charity. We are asking you to make an investment in our family's future. Going on as many interviews as we can increases the odds that both of us will match in the same state or city. The alternative is having a long-distance family, where one of us keeps our daughter and the other completes internship in a different state…possibly on the other side of the country. This option would make for an exceptionally long year for all three of us. Anyone who knows us knows how important Luna is to us both.
The past three years of exams, presentations, and long commutes have brought our family to this point. We have done a pretty good job carrying the load thus far. We just need a little help to get us through the last few steps of this journey.
Anything you can contribute would be very much appreciated. Even a few dollars will help us shoulder the costs of travel and lodging that are involved in this lengthy and exhausting process. Most importantly, you will be helping us stay together as a family.
If a financial contribution is not possible, we also need places to stay while we are on these interviews.
