On March 8, 2024, Ashlyn, at just 30 years old with four young children, was diagnosed with breast cancer. The month of March continued to be busy with many tests, labs, scans, appointments and waiting. The entire family anxiously awaited the results of the PET Scan which would indicate whether or not the cancer had spread. PET Scan results showed a suspicious spot on her hip and port placement/IV chemo was canceled until a bone biopsy could be completed on March 27.

April 2, 2024 Ashlyn was told that pathology results indicated the spot on her hip was in fact, cancer. Her breast cancer has metastasized into her bone and is considered stage 4, which is treatable but no longer considered to be curable. Ashlyn is strong willed, determined, and ready to fight this battle.

Ashlyn is currently undergoing treatment with Tamoxifen and injections to put her body into menopause to prepare for oral chemotherapy. At this time, Ashlyn is also scheduled for a second opinion at The University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center and also another opinion at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Ashlyn and Andrew will be missing work for appointments and face outstanding medical expenses as they seek out many options to aggressively treat this cancer. Funds raised here will be used towards medical expenses and necessary travel for treatment..

Ashlyn has repeatedly listened to a song, “More than Able” by Elevation Worship and has been specifically touched by the lyrics, “there’s so much more to the story, he’s not done with me yet” and “who am I to deny what the Lord can do?”. These words play over and over in her head . Many people have asked what they can do or how they can help. She knows that people feel helpless and realizes how hard that is. She is asking for prayers for a miracle because she knows that God IS more than able.
