In her words:
"The break-in happened a week ago and I am still trying to process the loss and emotions of having someone come into my shop which is like a second home to me and take whatever they wanted. In our case 3 designers collections were completely taken and several other pieces and partial collections as well.
It's hard to process and determine how to move forward. I want to cry, and I feel panicky, worried and responsible. There is a lump that forms in my throat every day as I work through this loss and violation. It feels personal. It is personal.
Whoever broke in took items that were one-of-a-kind, hand-made, not replaceable, made-with-love, from real people in my community of designers.
I have done the things I needed to do to account for the items stolen from the shop. I filed a police report, filed an insurance claim. Thank God I had a policy. However, I never thought or had the foresight for a 200+ item loss happening when opening my small business just under 5 years ago.
Many of you have asked how you can help. FashionweekMN asked me if they could set up a go-fund-me to help cover the additional financial burden of this loss.I do appreciate all of the support, messages and love sent our direction as we process what happened and move forward. "
If you can donate, share, give, support we would love to see it. Kim and her designers and boutique play such an important role in our community and we'd love to get them back on their feet.
