Save Five Freedoms Dairy - Ethically Sourced Milk

Please support our Friend and Founder of Five Freedoms Dairy, Dr. Kevin McSweeney. Due to some ongoing challenges related to moving his farm, the Doc has not been able to make and sell products for a few months. We want to ensure that doesn’t stop the amazing, groundbreaking and compassionate work he is doing here in Colorado.
The funds raised by this campaign will provide a generator and fuel (for the short term) and allow for the electrical upgrades necessary to get the Docs pasteurizer running again. This keeps Saucey and friends making milk and getting products to market. As soon as Five Freedoms is available in Ft. Collins, Boulder and Denver again - the community will be happy. It's an all-around win, a true investment in our community. We also hope to provide a bit of operating capital to secure the future of this incredible farm. Thank Moo for the love and any financial support you can provide!

If you aren't familiar with Five Freedoms Dairy already, each week the Doc distributes his small-batch products. This includes milk (regular, chocolate & strawberry), ricotta, cottage cheese, cheese curds and two types of yogurt, at various locations on the front range (including East High School). There is likely a bunch of science behind it, but we think because he gives his cows names - that the milk they share with us is out of this world extraordinary, like nothing you have ever tasted!
Five Freedoms Dairy was founded as a small but sustainable dairy model focused on providing cows with a healthier and more enriched life. The centerpiece of this enrichment is Five Freedoms’ system of leaving the cows with calves after being born, an uncommon practice here in the US. Keeping mamma’s with babies is awesome, but that is not all the Doc is doing right. His cows live outside with access to pasture, shade and soft bedding. Simply put, the cows are treated like the intelligent, gentle creatures they are. Therefore, they typically live twice as long as the industry average and have fewer hoof and leg issues than animals confined to concrete. The quality of life that the Doc has provided for these beautiful animals comes shining through in their fantastic products. Small, local farms have less impact on the environment and contribute to the local community, economy and food supply.
We are utterly grateful that you took the time to learn about our friends and contribute financially to ethically sourced milk!
