Five Stages Until - A Short Film

Donation protected
Five Stages Until written by Faith Lavon is a short film about a middle-aged woman processing the death of her husband through dance and healing conversations with her daughter.

As black women, we are so often portrayed through the lens of trauma that hardens us and leaves us to fend for ourselves. Although, I have had traumas in my life, those traumas don't define my life. They are not our only story and they are not the bravest of our stories. I want to turn away from those narratives and show us in hues of light, vulnerability and relatable experiences that are universal.

Our goals for our film:

* To show more stories of black people that are relatable to the human experience and, therefore, universal
* To showcase diversity in all areas of our film both in front of and behind the camera
* To pay our team fairly and equitably
* To have a (wildly) successful festival run and be able to attend the ones we are honored to be a part of

We would love and appreciate your assistance in achieving our goals. Your kind donations will go towards:
* production: cast and crew hires, the three-day shoot, props, catering - you know the drill
* post-production: editing, color grading, sound mixing, music - all the things to make it shine
* film festivals: festival entry fees, deliverables and travel - the delicious icing on the cake

Please share and spread the word. Thank you for your time and your support!
