Fix Ethan's Foot

Ethan is just like any other 12 year boy. He loves video games, hanging with his friends and watching funny movies. Ethan would love to play sports too, and be more active like many other kids his age, but he just can't. Ethan was born with a condition in his left foot called Subtalar Tarsal Coalition. Basically the bones in his foot have been fused his whole life which has in turn disfigured his foot and had an adverse affect on his posture and ultimately his physical development (see pic below). 


It took a while for us to get it out of him, but Ethan has communicated to us that this has made him quite self conscious about his physical abilities, and appearance, as he watches other kids around him excel in sports and other physical activities. 

After years of doctors suggesting that he just has "flat feet",  we were not satisfied with that conclusion. Last year we took Ethan to an orthopedic surgeon who informed us that he in fact does not have "flat feet." His hip and knee pain and akward posture were being caused by the aforementioned condition, Subtalar Tarsal Coalition, and now is a prime time in his life to correct it! Finally we had an answer! Finally Ethan will be able to live a more active life. 

We want Ethan to have more oppotunities in his life as he grows up. Opportunities that pain and discomfort could prevent him from enjoying. Unfortuantely this procedure is costly and as parents we racked our minds on how we were going to help our son. Enter GoFundMe. We've heard of many amazing charitable stories, and miracles, that have come about because of GoFundMe and we felt that this could be our path to help Ethan find comfort. 

The operation is set to happen ASAP so the funds would likewise be needed ASAP so we can get the process going. We will be having the operation done either way because Ethan needs it, no matter what.
