Bless the church with a "New Roof"

Hi My name is La'Shea Green-Thomas and I'm a dedicated member of Spirit of Truth Urban Ministries in the city of Buffalo, New York. Please read below and help this lighthouse of faith continue serving the community after the storm.

HEROES OF BUFFALO

“Pastors Al and Vivian Robinson of Spirit of Truth Urban Ministries and owners of LaVerdad Cafe, and Rebecca Rose Recovery Institute, located at 115 Gold Street in Buffalo, have been shepherds for 12 years.

On Dec. 23 at 11 p.m. they opened their home and the church to the community. Together they said "let’s just do it.” Trusting nobody but GOD and the process.

They noticed that a plan was not in place, and people were clinging to life in the city and wanted to help as many people as they could. They wanted to help with whatever they had. They realized that in this deadly storm their community needed more than JUST PRAYERS, THEY NEEDED ACTION. Through obedience and sacrifice they exercised faith, love, and unity and provided food and shelter to over 130 individuals.

Lives would have been lost if they didn't open up when they did. God blessed them to stretch household foods to feed the multitude, bath the multitude and provide a place of refuge for the multitude. Children found the church while parents were stuck at work or in the storm.

Pastor Al carried individuals on his back in the most dangerous times of the storm. Pastor Vivian provided a welcoming atmosphere with bedding, toiletries, nourishment and prayers for every individual that knocked on the doors of their home and the church.

They didn't just accept people, they also allowed them to bring their pets. They cleaned wounds, checked oxygen levels, soaked frostbitten legs, hands and feet, all with the love of Christ.

They not only opened their home and church to all denominations and a diverse group of people from ALL walks of life but they OPENED THEIR HEARTS. They gave from their own and shared everything they had to ensure that a true Christmas miracle was had from newborn babies to senior citizens 80 and above.

They gave from the abundance of their hearts and together saved lives, and put families back in the arms of concerned loved ones. They worked around the clock from 11 p.m. on Dec. 23 until Dec. 28. 2022

Pastor Al continued to deliver formula, diapers, and care packages to the community in need while Pastor Vivian delivered to the storm survivors in the church.

Many acts of kindness and donations helped with this effort. Pastors Al and Vivian Robinson will forever be a true part of lifesaving history and serve as a beacon of God's light in their community.”
