Fix the Iconic Petworth Mural

Donation protected

The Petworth mural on the side of the Fed City realty building at 843 Upshur Street has become an iconic symbol for the neighborhood. The mural was painted in 2015 with community funds raised by the Petworth Alliance and painted by local DC artist Juan Pineda.

The mural was defaced and tagged at the beginning of February.

You'll see pictures of this mural on neighbors' Facebook profiles, on Twitter accounts, in the New York Times, the Washington Post, on Petworth News and other places. Families and couples posing in front of the mural during the Celebrate Petworth Festival, and in better times when we could freely gather. We'll be able to do that again.

And for when we do, it's time to fix the mural and showcase what a community can do together.

Help your neighborhood with $5 or $50 to fix the mural...

All funds donated will go to the effort of repainting or repairing the mural on the same wall.

We look forward to keeping our community artwork bright and strong.
