Fix Truck Norris

Hi, my name is Hanque Myers, and I'm starting a fundraiser to help get my truck fixed. There is a significant issue with the timing chain in my "Truck Norris".

Some of you may know me, and I run through this quickly for those who don't. My dream job position was eliminated in 2020 due to the effects of the covid-19 shutdown. In a scramble to replace my income for my family and not lose our home, I went into a line of work that has never really paid off. Yes, because of the current economic environment. Although my wife has gone through similar work issues, she has found suitable employment while I still struggle. I'm currently interviewing for some full-time work, but I haven't received any answers yet.

I was given severance pay, but that was not enough to get through the last two years. So, I also withdrew all my savings, which have now been exhausted. I've been working part-time to help with bills, hoping to get my alternate service work going, but the time has come to get a full-time job so we can keep our home and raise our kids.

However, during a routine oil change a week ago on my (paid-off) truck and source of transportation for work, it was discovered that the timing chain in the engine was just about to break. This would cause much more significant problems and be much more costly. Or I could finance a new car - NOT where I can be now. My trust-worthy auto shop called after opening the engine and put an estimated cost of $4800. They tell me that I should not drive it lest I break it.

Like many other families out there right now, we are just stretched to the financial breaking point. The engine can be repaired; if not, I will end up with an unusable vehicle for a very long, strenuous time.
