Fix Lake County

What do you get when you have a city with the distinction of being labeled "the Poorest City in the State" without the resouces for animal control services to meet the needs of the city? What if you add to that the third worst fire in California, the Valley Fire?

You get stray animals, packs of dogs attacking people and pets, dog fighting, community cats out of control, and animals suffering, dying, and being euthanized at unacceptable rates.

Orphan Dog is Lake County's largest rescue group. We rescue, rehab, and rehome about 250 dogs a year. In 2016, we will home our 3,000th dog. We do this on a shoestring budget and an all volunteer staff. In addition, we travel about 3,000 miles a month to more than 4 counties to weekly adoption events.

In addition to our commitment to rescue, we are committed to reducing the births of unwanted and uncared for animals. 

To do this, Lake County needs a low-cost and/or no-cost spay and neuter program, FIX Lake County. Orphan Dog has received a committment to begin the program. We now need funds to guarnantee the program for one year, at which time we will have the track record to apply for grants.

Time is of the essence, Everyday animals suffer. Please, help. 100% of every dollar donated will go toward the care of animals either to keep them from death row, to rescue them, or for medical care. Every donation is tax-deductible.
