Last Brown Beret completion funds
Donation protected
We are a self funded feature length movie. The Last Brown Beret is based on the very successful play, The Last Angry Brown Hat; which toured the USA, playing at the Smithsonian Institute, George Washington University, Yale, Notre Dame, UCLA, USC, UC Berkeley, UC Fresno, amongst many others. 187 universities & colleges. 22 high schools. Large venues include the Paramount Theater in Denver, Colorado, Orpheum Theater in Phoenix, Arizona, Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center in San Antonio, Wool Warehouse in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
We require at least another 200k in funding to complete our movie. We have had initial, "work in progress" screenings at a high school and a community center. The audiences connected with the movie, in a major way.
The 100k will help us pay the actors, who have not been paid yet and offset the 200k, that we will need to complete our wonderful movie. We must pay the actors, in order to release the movie. We also have to pay for flashback scenes, final sound design, color correction, final mix, E&O. This is where we get the 200k figure.
When our Director/Producer, Del Zamora gets some acting work, we are able to push the movie to the next process, in the myriad of processes required to complete a quality, feature length movie. We have spent 215k so far. 12k of that money was donated through Kickstarter & Indiegogo campaigns. The rest spent has been paid by Del Zamora.
We have been slowed down by lack of proper funding. So, the more we raise, the sooner we can complete our movie.
We appreciate you spending time to read our pitch. If you choose to help us, you will be participating in completing a culturally important movie, about forgotten US history. This history is known as the Chicano Movimiento and the Brown Berets who were one of the activist groups, participating in this important movement. A movement that made the society much better for Chicanos/Mexican Americans.
