Demetra’s Breast Cancer Fight (IVF, chemo, radiation, etc.)
Donation protected
I began cancer treatment 1.5 years ago. I went through IVF, chemo, radiation, and 2 surgeries. My second surgery was 1 month ago, and I’m currently fighting an infection. Assuming the infection clears, I will need at least 1 more surgery.
I received my termination letter because treatment is taking far too long. I spent over $110,000 out of pocket for everything and developed permanent health issues that will cost me another $2,500 a month ($30,000 a year).
I accrued over $150,000 so far in debt. Unfortunately, I am unable to work and don’t know if I will continue to receive disability. At this time, the medical expenses that resulted from treatment are not something I can afford long term.
Once I was diagnosed with stage 3 metastatic cancer, I was rushed through the IVF process. It went poorly and cost me $50,000 out of pocket. The insurance copay for each dose of medication I needed was over $5,000.
I cannot continue treatment or self care after completely depleting my funds and exhausting my resources. I am forced to ask others for assistance where I would prefer to give it. I am eternally grateful for any aid but already feel blessed for all the support I received. Thank you to everyone!!!
