A New Jersey newspaper reporter is battling cancer while at the same time fighting an unconstitutional prior restraint coming from the state’s attorney general’s office and a local judge.

Twenty-seven-year-old Isaac Avilucea, a reporter at The Trentonian, wants to fight until what he believes should be published is published. His newspaper's lawyer is asking him to make a deal that will keep secret the documents he has rightfully gained and are of public interest in a child abuse case. A First Amendment lawyer has agreed to handle his cause pro bono.

But as that battle heats up,  Isaac has been diagnosed with testicular cancer that has spread to his lungs and lymph nodes. He is currently undergoing a twelve-week course of chemotherapy at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.

100% of the money raised through this site will go to Issac to pay medical fees not covered by his health insurance, which may range anywhere from 20% to 50% of the costs.

Isaac's story  is detailed  in The Daily Beast: How New Jersey’s Attorney General Is Trying to Muzzle a Reporter

This campaign is established by a fellow journalist who believes Issac deserves our support.
