FK Your Diet opened its doors four years ago in Fort Myers, Florida, as a restaurant to provide home-cooked, comfort food to our customers. Some think the name is salacious when they first hear it. The "FK " in FK Your Diet really means Foster Kids. One of the founders, Doug Miller grew up in the foster system, and we wanted to give back to such a forgotten segment of our population. Since its inception, we have been able to help Foster Kids throughout Florida with donations totaling over 1.5 million dollars. Our mission has been to help Foster Kids directly by providing meals, food, clothing, shoes, bedding, housing, jobs, computers, phones, birthday parties, graduation parties, Christmas parties, Christmas gifts, Thanksgiving meals and much, much more.

We have since grown the business to 6 locations that include: Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Orlando, Sunrise, Punta Gorda and a Food Truck. All locations share the vision of helping.

When we started the business, we knew that we wanted to do more in addition to helping Foster Kids. We wanted to help individuals from all walks of life with assistance and love. From the beginning, we made every effort possible to use every square inch of our restaurants to help the community. We started with our staff and hiring process. We wanted a diverse staff to include some people who need a 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th chance because of unfortunate life circumstances, foster kids, the homeless, people with physical and mental disabilities, people who have been incarcerated, gender inequalities, age and ethnic diversity. The mission is to love them up, and teach them up so that they become productive citizens of society and have a new purpose in life. In addition to hiring people in need, the restaurants fed people who were hungry that walked into our restaurants or parking lots. If you couldn't afford your meal, it was on the House!

On September 27, 2022, our little world changed. Hurricane Ian swept through SWFL with a vengeance. Thousands of people (our customers) lost their homes, cars, everything. FK Your Diet quickly went to work on September 28th, doing what we know best - FEED PEOPLE! Our staff joined in right away to help. They cooked in the dark, hot kitchen for ten days and didn't complain once. Every day since Hurricane Ian we have been FOSTERING OUR COMMUNITY by serving hot FREE meals to our community in SWFL. We immediately began delivering (so many people lost their cars and have no transportation) meals and supplies to destroyed areas and continue to do so three times per day, every day. The restaurant has served as a pick-up location for a FREE hot meal and a place where people can get necessities such as water, non-perishable food, diapers, wipes, towels, blankets, sheets, cleaning supplies, furniture, paper products, pillows and clothes. We have served over 150,000 hot meals and hundreds of truckloads of supplies.

As days come and go, we know the effects of Hurricane Ian will take months, if not years, for people and businesses to recover. Because of this, we couldn't find it in our hearts to open back up as "business as usual." In the aftermath of hurricane Ian, we have dedicated our restaurants as a Community Kitchen concept by providing free hot meals, made with love, to those struggling. In addition, we have our traditional menu, but there are no prices are listed because our food is FREE! We hope if you have the means, you will leave us a donation to help us continue our efforts in supporting our communities. If you don't, your meal is on us today!

Our goal with this type of fundraising is to be able to do the things for people that don't have parents to do it for them (at any age!).
