Flag Retirement Box - Eagle Scout Project

Hi, my name is Jake and I am with BSA Troop 776, in Simpsonville, South Carolina. I am working with the City of Simpsonville and the Parks and Recreation Department to install a Flag Retirement Box at the Veterans Memorial on Main St.

There are very few places in Simpsonville to dispose of old, worn, torn, faded or badly soiled flags to be retired. My project will help the people in the community have a local place to donate their deteriorated flags for proper flag retirement. Troop 776 is one of the few organizations that are capable of retiring a flag with the dignity that it deserves.

The cost of purchasing this weatherproof metal cabinet and installing it is $1900.
