What is Flashback?

Haunted by flashbacks of her traumatic childhood, a young artist named Gracie relocates to Los Angeles and embarks on a journey of self-discovery and healing through therapy.

Why support Flashback?

Supporting Flashback means contributing to a powerful film that shines a light on critical issues affecting many lives. This film aims to raise awareness for those struggling with their mental health, the impacts of childhood sexual abuse, and CPTSD. Here's why your donation and support are crucial:

Flashback brings to the forefront the often-hidden struggles of mental health and the deep, lasting impact of childhood trauma. By supporting this film, you help amplify these important issues, fostering greater understanding and empathy in society.

Mental health and childhood sexual abuse are topics often surrounded by stigma and silence. This film encourages open conversations, helping to break down the barriers that prevent many from seeking help and support.

Through Gracie’s journey of self-discovery and therapy, Flashback offers a message of hope and resilience. It shows that healing is possible and can inspire others to seek the help they need.

By highlighting the experiences of those with CPTSD and survivors of childhood sexual abuse, the film validates their experiences and lets them know they are not alone. Your support can provide a sense of solidarity and encouragement for many.

The film hopes to serve as a bridge to mental health resources, guiding viewers towards therapy and support networks. This can have a real, positive impact on individuals who might be struggling in silence.

Flashback promises to be a compelling, well-crafted film that tells a true and heartfelt story. Supporting this project means backing authentic storytelling that can resonate deeply with audiences.

Your donation not only helps bring this important film to life but also contributes to a broader mission of raising awareness, breaking stigmas, and promoting healing. Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of many who have faced similar struggles.

A note from our director and writer...

I'm Kylie Rohrer, an actor, director, and mental health advocate. My journey with mental health began in my early childhood. My struggle with anxiety and depression shaped my early years, leading me on a path to understand and cope with these challenges.

In college, my interests in psychology and film merged, sparking a fascination with storytelling through filmmaking and acting. The COVID-19 pandemic became a turning point for me; I joined an online acting class and discovered a new outlet for my creativity and advocacy.

The idea for Flashback was born long before I received my CPTSD diagnosis in 2020. When I finally understood the root of my flashbacks, anxiety, and triggers, everything clicked into place. This revelation drove me to create Flashback for those silently battling PTSD, often without even knowing it, and for anyone grappling with their mental health, yearning for authentic representation in film and television.

Flashback is more than a film; it's a beacon of hope. It depicts the messy, confusing, and often heartbreaking process of healing. It's about bravery in the face of remembering and overcoming. Healing is not linear, but it is courageous.
