The circumstance is something none of us can really comprehend – children losing their parents within a month of each other. Our collective hearts are breaking for Fletcher and Roger as they struggle to deal with the emotional devastation that they shouldn’t have to experience ever, let alone at their age.
Thankfully, Fletcher and Roger are in the safe and loving arms of family friends, and this housing arrangement is expected to remain for a number of months, if not longer. The generosity of the two families, who are currently caring for Flether and Roger, will ensure that the boys have their physical and emotional needs met whilst keeping them in the community they call home. This is incredibly important as they start to process the first stages of grief.
Whilst there is uncertainty as to what the long-term future looks like for the boys, we do know that they have immediate needs that require attention. These include the purchase of clothes, technology for school to ensure their education can continue, and other day to day expenses to name a few.
The financial complexities will take some time to unravel and so, with the approval of the boys family, we have set up this Go Fund Me page to financially support the boys during their time of need. This money will mean that the two families caring for the boys will not be adversely financially impacted while they meet these immediate needs.
This year has been tough for many, however one thing 2020 has highlighted is the true strength of a community coming together to make a positive difference. So in that spirit, if you have the ability to donate any amount, no matter how small, know that your donation is having a significant impact right now on the lives of Fletcher and Roger.

Note: This fundraising page has been set up by Alison Shapiera on behalf of Fletcher and Roger Brown after permission was obtained from the Brown family. All money raised here will be placed into an account for the boys with an appropriate administrator overseeing any reimbursements to the two families caring for the boys. This will ensure there is transparency in monies coming in and monies going out. The two families caring for the boys will be recording all purchases, and receipts kept. If the living situation changes, all remaining funds will be provided to the new carers of Fletcher and Roger for the boys needs. The carers of the boys are Mike and Michelle Pickett and Phil and Andrea Tankard.
