Fletcher Testicular Cancer: Chemo Unit for GCUH
Donation protected
Unfortunately, I’ve been dealing with Testicular Cancer for the past few months. Fortunately for me, as of six weeks ago, I’ve finished all of my treatment!
In July, I found a lump on my testicle. I was immediately concerned, because my brother had battled Testicular Cancer in 2019. I had an ultrasound in Bali that confirmed that I had a tumour of some sort, so I rushed back to Australia to figure out what was going on.
Once back in Australia, I quickly had a surgery to completely remove my left testicle. Unfortunately, my biopsy confirmed not only that I had cancer, but it had also done some damage to various blood vessels. Basically, this meant I had to do chemotherapy to make sure the cancer wouldn’t spread around my body.
Although this has been the toughest test I've ever been through, the team at The GCUH are a bright spot for those of us going through it. I would like to support them, in their efforts to support those of us going through our toughest test.
The funds will be going towards helping create more comfortable settings for patients to receive their chemotherapy infusions. We spend a lot of time in that area of the world, and to make it more comfortable for each patient will go a long way.
