Fletcher’s Elbow Surgery
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
Some of you may already know that in February, Ryan and I welcomed Fletcher into our family. At almost 6 months old, he's become the most delightful little pup, and we absolutely love being his parents.
When we first brought Fletcher home, we made sure to get the best possible pet insurance for him, recognizing that French Bulldogs are susceptible to health issues. The monthly premium amounted to $250. However, last month, we decided to discontinue the insurance. We thought it wiser to put that money into a savings account, ensuring funds were available for Fletcher if needed, while also building up savings instead of paying an insurance bill.
Unfortunately, Fletcher didn’t give us an opportunity to save. During our recent trip to NL, Fletcher had a mishap on the patio and fractured his elbow. After having an x-ray at the vet, we were advised to wait until returning to Ontario to consult a surgeon. The surgeon recommended immediate surgery to prevent any potential complications or long-term issues with Fletcher's arm.
This unexpected injury couldn't have come at a more inconvenient time, with the surgery costs estimated to exceed $8,000, along with post-surgery rehabilitation expenses. This experience has quickly shown us the importance of pet insurance, leading us to secure a new policy. However, this particular injury is now deemed pre-existing and will not be covered by the insurance.
Ryan, Fletcher, and I would greatly appreciate any support or contributions.
With love & puppy snuggle,
Paige, Ryan, and Fletcher
