Flight Nurse Needs Your Help
Donation protected
Hi Everyone—
One of our favorite flight nurses Shannon Allman -Mann needs our help. Shannon has been a dedicated nurse since 1993. She has been and critical care nurse for many years and joined the flight team at largest healthcare system in Charlotte 6 years ago. Shannon is one of the most compassionate and kind-hearted professionals who has been dealt a tough hand. Those of us who know her understand that she is a fighter, but this fight will be a long, rocky, and expensive one.
Early this month Shannon became very sick and was diagnosed with aggressive form colo-rectal cancer which has metastasized to her liver and her lungs. She has just completed the first surgical procedure and will begin chemo and radiation treatment as soon as she is strong enough, but we do not know how things will play out. What we do know is that Shannon is putting all of her energy and drive into fighting this insidious disease and can use as much support and love as possible.
Shannon, being the selfless registered nurse that she is, has helped countless people throughout her life and her nursing career. She has offered everything she has to people in need; no matter what their situation, she is always ready to help with quality patient care, empathetic heart and nonjudgmental spirit. She has provided patient care to hundreds of patients in her career.
Now we have the chance, and honestly the obligation, to step up and return the favor and help a registered nurse in need Please help Shannon through this battle with cancer. Her coworkers are able to assist with covering her shifts as well as donate paid time off (PTO). However, the medical bills far exceed the income.
So, we are reaching out to flight nurses and nurses across the country for help. Whether you can give a lot, a little, or contribute by keeping her in your hearts, anything helps. I’m sure everyone understands how expensive cancer treatment is, and the last thing we want Shannon to focus on right now is whether she will be able to afford her rent, her treatment, and other expenses.
We will update this page as time passes and we receive more news. In the meantime, please spread the word and spread the love. Give what you can, send messages of support— whatever you’ve got.
