Flip Off for Childhood Cancer Coalition (formerly ACCOIN)

Thomas Harner was born with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and spent much of his life in Spokane receiving treatment. Tommy was a happy toddler who loved Lightning McQueen, his dog, and above all else, being with his family. Despite receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation, and a bone marrow transplant, Tommy lost his cancer battle at the age of 2 years, 4 months, and 10 days.
This September, we hope to give back to an organization that helped us throughout our journey - the Childhood Cancer Coalition (formerly ACCOIN). “Their unique mission is to help each family cope with life during childhood cancer treatments and rebuild their lives after cancer from the experienced perspective of those who have been there before. Donations will enhance the lives of children with cancer and their families by providing emotional and practical support, education, patient advocacy, and the assurance that no child or family will have to fight cancer alone.”
Flip Off Childhood Cancer Challenge
Last Year's Goal: 1,290 tire flips in the month of September, signifying the number of children that will be diagnosed with Childhood Cancer in the month of September.
This Year's Goal: Let's have every group, team, or solo participant that signs up achieve the 1,290 flips!
How we plan on achieving our goal: We invite any individual, gym, team, or community organization that would like to flip a tire (once or multiple times). These can be tractor tires, car tires, tires of any size.
Entry donation: Suggested donation of $10. You may also donate without flipping a tire.
Every day in the US, 43 kids will be diagnosed with childhood cancer – that’s 1 out of 285 kids before the age of 19. Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in kids in the US and for those that survive treatment, many are live with lifelong side effects of treatment. Childhood Cancer isn't rare - help us spread awareness of this disease, so that it receives greater attention for improved treatment and so that these precious warriors are not forgotten.
Last year, we had 11,812 tire flips and we've raised over a thousand dollars for this charity. Our goal again year is $1,290. Together, we can achieve this goal and help out a great cause.
