Flo Shaughnessy – Supporting Maldon in Bloom

In memoriam of Flo Shaughnessy, much-loved former Mayor, Councillor, teacher, and passionate resident of Maldon, who dedicated her time to serving the community she adored.

One of Flo’s greatest passions was Maldon in Bloom, who she fondly calling them “the Bloomers.” As Chair since November 2020, she led this dedicated group of volunteers who meet every Tuesday to plant and maintain the town’s beautiful floral displays. Their work includes creating wildflower gardens, raising herb beds at St Giles Ruins, tending Leech Memorial Garden, and with the support of Reeves, transforming the Wantz Road triangle into the lovely garden seen today.

In lieu of flowers, Flo’s family has requested donations to support Maldon in Bloom, ensuring her legacy lives on and Maldon remains a beautiful place for all to enjoy.
