Flood Recovery for K Street Kreative Studios

On Monday, January 22nd the beloved K St Kreative Studios located in Grant Hill endured massive flooding (waist deep!) and ensuing damages due to the unprecedented rain across San Diego county. K St Kreative consists of 4 office spaces, a recording studio, live band room, 4 practice/band rehearsal rooms, and 3 warehouse artist spaces and is the the home of a tight knit community of musicians, artists, and small business owners.

Unfortunately, K Street does not have flood insurance, as it has sustained previous floods (and is therefore deemed uninsurable in California as a result) with the last one being almost exactly 5 years ago to the day. We are hoping to be able to rebuild and restore the building and spaces so that K St can once again provide this much needed space for artists, musicians, and small business owners to create and work their magic in. There is lots to do and it will probably be a good several months before things even start to feel normal. We are trying to move as quickly as possible with flood remediation before mold sets in and makes restoration impossible. We have some help from the building owner in the way of flood remediation, but there is still so much work ahead of us, to rebuild walls, flooring, property damages to recoup, and incidentals along the way.

This gofundme fundraiser was created by Rebecca Antuna, the spouse of Demetrius Antuna who is the partial business owner of K St Kreative. All donations will go directly to the K St Kreative business checking account, via Demetrius Antuna, who is listed as the gofundme beneficiary. Any funds collected will go directly towards flood remediation and restoration to save the building and inside room structures, rebuilding rooms/structures, clean up incidentals, replacement of K St Kreative's property that was damaged in the flood (musical equipment, studio gear, furniture, etc.), loss of income, and potentially legal fees to prove the city's negligence.
